When we got done riding Thomas and doing all the other Thomas things we went down to the Columbia river. It was a beautiful day and we spent quite a bit of time throwing rocks.
Trey came up with this other game of throwing the rocks at the logs we were sitting on. What an adventure when he launched a rock at the log and it bounced right at me. Then there was the turing your back to the water and throw rocks backwards over your head into the water game. That didn't last long because it was very obvious that one was going to come down on his, or his grandma's head. He did seem impressed when i caught one though. It was in self defense actually. What a great time we had on our adventure!!

The first picture is just as the train started moving with the whistle blowing and we had just started rolling.

Trey with his jr. engineer certificate. Kinda like getting your drivers license!

Grandpa and Trey kinda broke the rules hanging our heads out of a moving train. It made for some great pictures though! We also could look forward and watch Thomas pulling us.

In the train waiting for our trip. He was hanging his head out the window dorking around in and out playing with another little boy way in the back.

Some one once told me that you really need to jump on the bed in motel rooms because you can't do it at home. In this case "you can't do that at grandma and grandpa's house".

Trey early in the morning sitting on Thomas. A bit later when it got going you could only stand in front of Thomas. Thomas must think Trey is special letting him sit on him to get close.

He really liked the water exhibits where he could watch everything. This was a massive sealion that he just stood in this corner and it kept doing laps swimming right past him every time. He also really liked a sea otter exhibit where Linda picked him up and when it went under she would lower him so he could watch it swimming. When it went up for air she would lift him up so he could see it pop out of the water. He thought that was hilarious and would gigle every time it came up. So much fun.
I would just watch him at times on this trip and enjoyed seeing pure delight at discovering the world around us. We sure need to try and do that as adults some times. We need to be in awe of the world around us some times. I think it would help us keep life in perspective, we are pretty small stuff in the grand scheme of things.

We took Trey for and adventure. We went to the zoo in Portland then went to Hood River and spent the night and the following day we went to Thomas the Train. The following pictures are from that trip.
Linda saw cotton candy at the zoo and figured Trey had never had any. She got some and when she brought it back he was very hesitant to try it. Until his grandma and granpa had some then he thought it was prett cool stuff. Did you know they make lemon flavored cotton candy??

Trey had been bugging Calah and Evan to take the training wheels off for about a month or so. Finally they gave in and Evan took them off. he palyed around a bit on Sunday helping Trey figure out how to ride. Calah took Trey to his great grandpma's the following day and he had to take his bike along. She took Trey over to Linda's school for a visit and took the bike out. Linda said it was about 10 minutes after he had the bike out that he was riding all over the place. The day after that I picked Trey up after work and he had me get my bike out so we could ride together. I was a bit stunned when he "took off like a rocket" (his words) and when we were done i looked at my milage and we had ridden 3 miles. Strong willed kid! When he says he is going to do something get outta the way!
